Service Providers typically offer discounts that award their subscribers some quantity of free service or service at a reduced rate, for example free calling minutes or free downloads (measured in occurrences). A Unit Balance is the unused portion of a discount applied to a specific service number.
The IDI platform provides an intuitive ledger-style presentation for viewing and managing rated usage.. This enables sales and service representatives to assist subscribers with understanding and managing the past, current and future state of their usage via one comprehensive display.
From the unit balance ledger view, representatives can:

see how many recurring units a subscriber receives in any given billing period. A unit is the basic (smallest) measurement of a service that may be awarded through discounts and credits and depleted through usage and debits. Minutes and occurrences are examples of units.

see how many units have been used to date.

see the expiration date for available units.
Using right-click menu options representatives can:

see a history of debits and credits to unit balances.

apply debits and credits to unit balances.
The Unit Balance feature also provides detailed and aggregate data on usage and discounting directly to subscribers through the invoice and OnlineBill.
