About Private Line Tax Allocation

The Private Line Taxes tab allows for international addresses to be assigned to a service. A private line is a telecommunications service that entitles the customer to exclusive or priority use of a communications channel or group of channels between or among termination points, regardless of the manner in which such channel or channels are connected, and includes switching lines, stations, and any other associated services provided in connection therewith. Private line service bypasses the PSTN.

A telecommunications service that entitles the customer to exclusive or priority use of a communications channel or group of channels between or among termination points, regardless of the manner in which such channel or channels are connected, and includes switching lines, stations, and any other associated services provided in connection therewith. Private line service bypasses the PSTN.

When a new allocation is added to the system, a screen displays showing the tax fraction of the remaining portion of the total allocation.

For example, if an allocation exists for 75% of the line, the Allocate Private Line taxes screen displays and the tax fraction is automatically set to .25. No other fields are auto-populated.

Typically, a tax jurisdiction is determined based on the address entered. The override option is available when the country is USA since tax jurisdiction for only the US are available. If the override box is checked, the tax jurisdiction selected from the Choose Tax Jurisdiction screen will be used.
