About IDI RunCenter

Prev Next

The IDI RunCenter web application gives service providers greater visibility into and control over their billing process. Setting up and running billing in the IDI platform requires collaboration by your billing team and IDI. The IDI needs to perform some preliminary setup and is responsible for some ongoing maintenance. Following the preliminary setup, your billing team can monitor and manage bill runs in the RunCenter.

Billing Tasks Breakout provides a quick overview. Tasks that your billing team will complete in the RunCenter are covered in detail as indicated in For More Information.

Billing Tasks Breakout

IDI:

  • Establishes Bill Cycles and Bill Periods.

  • Sets up the initial bill run requests to ensure billing operations are triggered at the correct time and follow the agreed cadence.

  • Manages system schedules during planned downtime or maintenance windows. This prevents bill runs from being initiated when the system is unavailable, ensuring data integrity and operational stability.

Your billing team:

  • Manages Call Detail Record (CDR) files. This is critical for accurate usage rating and billing. IDI recommends loading and validating usage records throughout the month to ensure only recently received records are processed on the date of the bill run.

  • Initiates and manages bill runs via the RunCenter. This involves kicking off each step in a Bill Period as needed to complete the bill run.

  • Reviews completed operations to check for errors and ensure the results align with expectations. Note: It is recommended to validate the results of each step before running the next one. This saves reprocessing time if changes need to be made.

  • Works Unbillable Usage as needed to resolve unbillable usage records. This may involve correcting account configurations or addressing missing price plans to ensure all usage is properly billed.

  • Approves the bill period, commits charges to accounts and closes the Bill Period. Once approved, no further changes can be made to invoices for that period. Note: It is recommended to limit access to the Approval steps, and not approve a bill run until all verification and revenue assurance has been successfully completed.

  • Releases and transmits XML invoice files to the designated print vendor. This ensures invoices are physically produced and mailed when required.
