To check the status of an MSAG file upload:
On the Applications menu, click BackOffice Management > MSAG Management > MSAG Status Files. This displays the MSAG Status Files window.
The MSAG Status Files window lists all of the MSAG log files that exist. For each log file, it provides the following information:
File Name
Name of the log file where the results of the MSAG file upload are recorded.
The File Name is the name of the uploaded MSAG file, with a .log extension.
Last Modified
Date and time of the last update to this log file.
Note
If the same MSAG file is uploaded multiple times, the results of each upload are recorded in the same .log file (appended to the end of the .log file).
To view the contents of an MSAG log file, right-click the desired log file and select View File. The contents of the selected log file are displayed in a WordPad window.
The MSAG log file is comprised of the following information:
The first line identifies the name of the MSAG file that was uploaded into the MSAG table:
Start of MSAG Import file: 'MSAG file name'
If any errors were encountered with the records in the uploaded MSAG file, they are listed under Start of MSAG Import file: 'MSAG file name'. Each error is listed separately and includes the line number in which the error occurred.
Note
An informational message is generated, if an uploaded MSAG record contains zero for the Low Range AND High Range Street Numbers. This type of record indicates that any Street Number is valid for this Street Name. It is considered a valid record and is added to the MSAG table.
The MSAG log concludes with a summary of the MSAG file upload results:
Total # of records deleted from the MSAG table
Total number of MSAG records that were deleted from the MSAG table, as a result of uploading this MSAG file.
Total # of records from file that were added to the MSAG table
Total number of new records that were added to the MSAG table, as a result of uploading this MSAG file.
Total # of records from file that were invalid
Total number of records in the MSAG upload file that were considered invalid and not added to the MSAG table.
Note
A record is considered invalid if it does not contain a Street Name, it is a duplicate of another record that exists in the uploaded MSAG file, or the Low or High Range street numbers are not numeric.
Total # of records from file that were errors
Total number of records in the MSAG upload file that were considered in error and not added to the MSAG table.
Total # of records read from file
Total number of records that were read from MSAG upload file.
Note
Total # of records read from file = Total # of records from file that were added to the MSAG table + Total # of records from file that were invalid + Total # of records from file that were errors.
Note
If the same MSAG file is uploaded multiple times, the information defined above is recorded for each upload. The results are appended to the end of this MSAG log file, following the completion of each upload.
