MSAG File Upload

MSAG providers generate the addresses that are loaded into the MSAG table. Each MSAG provider used by the carrier has a set of records containing location information for the respective Service Addresses. Uploading a new file overwrites the content for the respective provider.

Note

Uploading requires the MSAG File Upload permission.

To upload a file into the IDI platform MSAG table:

  • On the Applications menu, click BackOffice Management > MSAG Management > MSAG File Upload. This displays the MSAG Import File Upload window.

    The MSAG Import File Upload window provides the following input fields:

    File Name

    Enter the full name of the file you want to upload.

    Notes:

    • Click the ellipsis button EllipsisButton to the right of this input field to browse for the file you want to upload.

    • The file must have a .TXT, .MSAG, or .CSV extension.

    • This input field is required.

    MSAG Provider

    From the drop-down list, select the MSAG Provider that generated the file you want to upload.

    Notes:

    • This input field is required.

    • It is very important you select the correct MSAG Provider, as the uploaded records replace the existing MSAG records for that MSAG provider.

    Upload Progress

    Indicates the status of the MSAG file upload:

    • Ready - status displayed prior to starting upload.

    • Step X of Y Completed - status displayed while upload is in process (continuously updated as the upload progresses).

    • Done - upload completed.

    Close this dialog when upload completes

    Select this check box, if you want the MSAG Import File Upload window to automatically close when the MSAG file upload is finished.

  • Click the ellipsis button to browse for the file you want to upload.

  • The file must have a .TXT, .MSAG, or .CSV extension.

  • It is very important to select the correct MSAG Provider, as the uploaded records replace the existing MSAG records for that MSAG provider.

  • Click Upload to start uploading the specified file into the MSAG table. The following confirmation window is displayed:

  • Click Yes to continue uploading the specified file into the MSAG table. An informational message is displayed, indicating it may take a few minutes to import the file.

  • Click OK to continue. The Upload Progress section of the MSAG Import File Upload window is continuously updated to reflect the status of the MSAG file upload process.

    Note

    You can click Cancel at any time during the upload process, to stop the upload of the MSAG file.

    When the upload is finished, the MSAG Import File Upload window is updated to reflect a Done status. The Upload button changes to a Done button.

  • Click Done to close the MSAG Import File Upload window.

    The results of the MSAG file upload are recorded in a log file. You can view these results by clicking BackOffice Management > MSAG Management > MSAG Status Files. See MSAG Status Files for additional information.
