Point of Sale locations are arranged in a hierarchy that is managed by the Back Office. Through this hierarchy, location-specific business rules are defined. Some of these business rules can be inherited down the tree, or overridden as needed.

Global - The Global Location automatically exists at the root level, representing enterprise level business rules and information. You cannot change the name of this location, nor can you make it inactive.

Franchises (optional) - Franchises are an optional level in the hierarchy. They represent locations that are part of this IDI platform installation, but act as separate businesses for reporting and administration purposes. A Franchise can only be added beneath the Global location. It can either inherit Global values or override them.
