Communications requires version 17.1. SP1 or later.
Communications must be turned on in order for consuming web modules and Admin users to use the functionality. This is a five-step process, some of which are carried out by IDI, and some of which are your (the carrier's) responsibility:
Your DNS administrator creates a subdomain for the domain name to be used for Communications. This process varies based on your DNS and Domain Name registration provider.
You submit a completed worksheet to IDI via a Service Request. The worksheet gives IDI the subdomain information needed to complete setup.

IDI completes the setup.
IDI returns the worksheet with three CNAMEs for your DNS administrator to use in completing subdomain setup.
DNS administrator completes the setup in your system by creating the three CNAME records provided by IDI.

Subdomain Setup
The following illustrates a sample email address using a subdomain:
customersupport@support.serviceprovider.com
1 2 3
1 = The part before @ is mailbox name. Communications supports an unlimited number of mailboxes. Mailboxes are supported by configuring in CostGuard the various TO and FROM addresses that you wish to use with Communications.
2 = The part after @ is the subdomain created by you for use with Communications. All mail sent to a mailbox in this subdomain will be routed to CostGuard.
3 = The part after the subdomain is your existing domain.
Configuring Email Subdomain
Your Domain Name Services (DNS) administrator needs to create a subdomain for the domain name that you wish to use with Communications. The process for doing this will vary based on your DNS and Domain Name registration provider.
This subdomain must be specified in the worksheet which is sent to IDI. Communications supports unlimited mailboxes but only a single subdomain for each customer.
Configuring MX Record
The following MX Record must be added to the domain in order for Communications to receive emails:
mx.sendgrid.net : priority = 10
Configuring CNAME Records
For Communication to send emails on behalf of your subdomain three CNAME records must be created within the subdomain. IDI will provide the details of these records to you after receiving your chosen subdomain name.
