This lets you release devices from their assigned services to make them available for use with another service. This functionality is available via Device Search Results context menu. Access to this functionality requires having the Devices > Disassociate permission enabled in your permission profile.
To disassociate a device, from the Device Search Results, right-click on the applicable row and choose Disassociate from the context menu. This displays the Disassociate Device dialog.
The dialog displays the selected device’s Equipment ID (ESN/MEID or IMEI). You can change this as needed. The entered Equipment ID value observes current system rules. Specifically, if a 15- or 16-digit hexadecimal value is entered, the solution will use the first 14 digits. A Source Code must be selected from the drop-down menu.
Upon saving the entries, the system releases the specified device from its current service and makes it available for use on a different service. A message will indicate whether or not the update was completed successfully. A service number history record is created for the disassociation and a temporary device may be created.
