Creating a New Price Matrix

You can add a Price Matrix to existing Packages, Pricing Plans, and Products.

Note

If you are creating a new item to use a price matrix, you must create the item, save it and then configure the Price Matrix.

To add, edit, or view the Price Matrix for one of the above catalog items:

• In the IDI Desktop client, select Applications > Product Management > Product Catalog. This opens the Product Catalog.

• Locate the item in the catalog.

  Note

  The product, package, or pricing plan must already exist.

• Right-click the item and select Edit. This opens the item on the Main tab.

• Click the ellipsis button . This opens the Price Matrix window.

  

• To add a new row, right-click in the window and select New.

  OR

  To edit a row, right-click it and select Enter.

  This opens the Add/Edit Price Matrix Detail window.

  

• Enter the appropriate information.

  SKU	Catalog item's identifier.
  Charge	Amount charged to the customer.
  Cost	Amount your company is charged by the supplier.
  Contract SKU	Identifier of the associated Contract. Note If no Contract SKU is selected, the charge represents a bill period to bill period charge.
  State	Associated State abbreviation. Note If no State is selected, the Charge is not State/Zone specific.
  Zone	Area associated with the selected State where this charge applies. Notes: If an entire state is to be a separate Zone, you must create a Zone for that state. (See Zones Table.) If no Zone is selected, the Charge is not State/Zone specific.

Note

One row must be configured as the default Price Matrix before it can be saved. In the default Price Matrix row, the Contract SKU and Zone fields are empty.

• Click Save to save that row.

• Close the Price Matrix window to save the matrix.

  Notes:

  • You must select the Use Price Matrix check box to enable price matrix charges. However, you can configure the price matrix without enabling it. If you do not enable the use of the price matrix, the amount in the Charge field is used.

  • If you decide to change from rating with a price matrix to rating with one charge per SKU, you can clear the check box, but you must enter the desired amounts in the Charge and Cost fields.
