The Area Rating Method is used to rate area-to-area calls. Although seemingly similar to Local Calling Area rating, Area rating uses different mechanisms to rate the calls.
Also, in order to be able to create a free calling area offering for either wireline or wireless, you must create distance types for the rate plans to reference. For example, calls made from and to the same area (Home Area) are charged a different rate than calls from that area to another across the country (Home Area to National).
