Adding Service Numbers to a New Service Number Block

In order to create a new service number block, Application > CostGuard Client > Inventory Management > Service Number Inventory > Service Number Blocks > New must be enabled in your Permission Profile.

If you are adding one or more service numbers to a new service number block, the Add Additional Service Numbers Wizard guides you through the following set of windows.

  1. Select Inventories window.

  2. Select Inventory Groups window.

  3. Add Additional Service Numbers window.

  4. Select Add 10-digit service numbers and add the number range for the new Service Number Block.

  5. Select the Add these service numbers to a block check box.

  6. Click Next to display the Service Number Block Information window.

  7. Enter the required information as described below:

    Block Type

    Indicates the type of block.

    Select the desired Block Type from the list:

    • Code Holder

    • Received (Not Code Holder)

    • Received (Intermediate).

      Default = Code Holder.

    Block Status

    Status of the block.

    Select the desired block status from the drop-down list:

    • Available

    • Donated To Pool

    • Not Available.

      Default = Available.

    Block Owner

    Name of the carrier owning the block of service numbers.

    Select the appropriate block owner from the drop-down list.

    Code Holder

    Carrier associated with the block.

    Enter the carrier associated with the new service number block.

    Notes

    Enter any additional information and/or comments regarding this new service number block.

  8. Click Next to display the Blocked Service Number Information window.

  9. Enter the desired information and click Next to display the Confirm New Service Numbers window.

  10. Verify the information that is displayed.

    • If the information is not correct, click < Back to move back through the windows and enter the correct information.

    • If the information is correct, click Finish to submit your request.

      This closes the wizard and adds the new service number/range of service numbers to each of the inventories selected earlier in the wizard, in the Select Inventory Groups window.

      This also displays the Service Number Search results window with the service number inventory information for each service. number block you just added.
