Negative quantity can occur when a store has a set number of products in inventory that do not add up to the same number of products that are in stock.
The system will typically prevent you from selling negative quantities unless the product has been configured to do so.
For example:
If you have 10 phones in stock in inventory, but you have 20 phones in the store sitting on the shelf, you will not be able to sell the other 10 phones that have not been added to the store's inventory.
However, if you have a retail product you wish to sell that is not in inventory, enabling will allow you to continue the sale and the quantity of items sold will be negative (-1).
Allow Negative Inventory
If checked, this product can be sold even though the inventory for it is less than or equal to zero.
