Viewing Account Details for a Current Customer

To view the account details for an existing customer account:

  1. Click the Account Detail tab on the Customer # window. This displays the account details for this customer.

  2. The Account Detail tab provides the following information:

    Primary Billing Contact

    Name

    The name of the individual or company associated with the account who is to receive the invoice. In many instances, the billing name is identical to the customer information name. If the invoice will be sent to someone other than the customer in whose name the account was registered, enter the correct name in the Billing Address section.

    Company Name

    The name of the company associated with the account.

    Street1

    The street address of the individual or company listed as the subscriber for this account. If the invoice is to be sent to a different address, enter the correct information in the Billing Address section.

    Street2

    Supplemental address information. Use this for suite or apartment numbers, or other information that won’t fit in the Street1 field.

    Street3

    Supplemental address information. Use this for suite or apartment numbers, or other information that won’t fit in the Street1or Street2 fields.

    City

    The name of the city where the individual or company address is located. If the invoice is to be sent to a different city, enter the correct information in the Billing Address section.

    State

    The name of the state where the individual or company address is located. If the invoice is to be sent to a different state, enter the correct information in the Billing Address section.

    Zip

    The postal code of the customer address. If the invoice is to be sent to a different address, enter the correct code in the Billing Address section.

    Country

    The country of the customer address. If the invoice is to be sent to a different country, enter the correct information in the Billing Address section.

    Credit Information

    Date of Birth

    Some companies offer discounts or other incentives to customers who fall within certain age groups.

    Note

    Depending on your permissions, this field may be masked.

    Credit Class

    Indicates customer account standing. Used to assist in the assessment of potential credit risk for this account.

    Credit Limit

    Used to assist you with reporting fraud and prevention of bad debt. The dollar value of the customer’s Credit Limit.

    DUNS number

    The number assigned to a company by Dun & Bradstreet.

    Driver License

    The Driver License displayed is the license number of the individual responsible for the account.

    Driver License State

    The Drivers License State displayed is the abbreviated State where the drivers license, of the individual responsible for the account, was obtained.

    Reporting Information

    Invoice Format

    The combination of reports generated with the invoice for this customer at bill time.

    Region

    Designates the assigned region for the customer. Some products, services, and discounts may be limited to certain customer-regions.

    Affinity Group

    Affinity pricing plans pay a commission to an outside organization for a percentage of the total calls charged to a group of customers. This field designates the group to which the affinity commission is computed and reported.

    Home Region

    Used for custom billing report (Local-Calling-Area) only.

    Miscellaneous

    Finance Charge Exempt

    True: The customer should not be charged finance charges.

    False: The customer should be charged finance charges if warranted.

    Reason for Leaving

    A brief description of why the customer account has been disconnected.

    Suspend Reason

    If the account has been suspended, the reason for the suspension is displayed.

    Entitlements

    Click the link to view the Entitlements window.

    Usage Rounding Option

    Displays the usage rounding option associated with the customer account.

    Note

    This field may or may not be displayed, depending upon your permissions.

    Accounts Recv Group

    Displays the accounts receivable group associated with the customer account.

    Note

    This field may or may not be displayed depending on your permissions.

    Finance Group

    Displays the finance group associated with the customer account.

    Note

    This field may or may not be displayed depending on your permissions.

    Aging Group

    Displays the aging group associated with the customer account.

    Note

    This field may or may not be displayed depending on your permissions.

    Tax Information

    Override Jurisdiction

    Displays true if the tax jurisdiction has been overridden. Displays false if the tax jurisdiction has been set by the system.

    Tax State

    Automatically entered based on the customer’s ZIP code. the Tax State can be overridden.

    In the case where a non-USA country is entered, no tax information is entered.

    Note

    A required field for U.S. addresses.

    Jurisdiction ID

    A unique number that identifies the tax jurisdiction.

    Jurisdiction

    Automatically entered based on the address validation method. The tax jurisdiction can be overridden, if necessary.

    In the case where a non-USA country is entered, no tax information is entered.

    SSN

    The customer’s Social Security Number, if applicable.

    Note

    Depending on your permissions, this field may be masked.

    FEIN

    The customer's Federal Employee Identification Number.

    Exemptions

    Click the View link to view the Tax Exemptions window.
