Using a Customer Management Guided Order

This section shows you what a guided order looks like in an Order Wizard. It demonstrates the operation of selectable and non-selectable folders.

The folder hierarchy that drives this guided order is illustrated below and described in the following table.

Summary:
The New Service(s) order type has Guided Assignment enabled and triggers the guided order when a new service is added to the order. There are several starting folders from which to choose. The Freedom Plans Folder is selectable, but NOT a choose folder. If selected, the child Freedom Rate Plans folder is automatically selected. The Freedom Rate Plans folder has several child folders which contain features, contracts, and add-ons. These child folders are configured as not selectable. The guided order will display the contents of these folders automatically in the order dictated by the folder hierarchy. You cannot choose to skip any of these folders. Note Rather than using folder hierarchy to determine folder presentation order, as an alternative, the folders' Step Order property may be used.

In the Order wizard Order Information Window, select an Order Type with Guided Assignment enabled.
After you add services in the Order wizard, the guided order is triggered and starts by letting you specify which service(s) will be assigned the features to be selected during this guided order.
Select one or more services.
Click Next to continue. In this step you are required to select a starting folder whose folder structure will be used to guide this order. You must select at least one starting folder.
Click Next to continue. The selected starting folder has two types of plans from which to choose. Select the applicable folder.

The Choose property for these two folders is cleared. This means the contents of the selected folder (in this case the Freedom Rate Plans folder) is automatically selected next.
Click Next to continue. The contents of the Freedom Rate Plans folder is displayed, and you are instructed to select one and only one plan (Choose type = Choose 1 to 1).
Click Next to continue. The Freedom Rate Plans folder has three child folders, all of which are configured as not selectable. The guided order will automatically display the contents of these folders in the order dictated by the folder hierarchy. You cannot choose to skip any of these folders. The Features folder is the first child folder to be presented since it is a direct child of the Freedom Plans folder. The instruction pane for this folder directs you to select any three features.
Click Next to continue. The Contracts folder is a child of the Features folder and so is displayed next. You are instructed to select one contract.
Click Next to continue. The Add-Ons folder is a child of the Contracts folder and so is presented last. This folder has no restrictions. You may select any number of add-ons.
Note
As an alternative to using the folder hierarchy to determine the presentation order of these child folders, you could have created them all at the same level and then used the Step Order property to determine the presentation order.
When the guided part of the order is finished, the Order wizard will continue with standard operating procedures (submit the order).
