Usage Extensibility Data on Usage Views in Customer Care and IDI Desktop Client

Usage extensibility data is additional data within a Call Detail Record (CDR) that is not required for core processing and normally not presented in usage views in the IDI platform. The extensibility data available within a CDR is specific to each parser – some parsers capture no extensibility data at all, and other parsers capture several pieces of extensibility data.

Extensibility data may be useful to some carriers for forensic purposes or to help them understand more about the usage scenario. Carriers may request (via AR) that IDI capture certain pieces of usage extensibility data (as supported by their parser) and display it along with the standard usage data in IDI platform usage views.

Every piece of extensibility data has a tag (like a name) that identifies what it is. The example below shows the value 33 associated with the SOP field in a Call Detail Record.

All usage views in the Client and Customer Care support displaying extensibility data (when requested, and depending upon availability from the parser).
