An I/USA ePay interface requires specific information to be set up.
To configure the USA ePay payment gateway:
Select Applications > POS Back Office > Locations, Register Policy > Tender tab.
Access the Payment Gateway Configuration window and select USA ePay from the Payment Gateway list.
Enter the appropriate information for the tender type then click OK.
Valid tender types:
Credit Card
E-Check
Check (should not be used in a Call Center setting, use E-Check)
E-Checks
Requests to authorize an E-Check transaction can result in one of the following three scenarios:
Guaranteed and Authorized – This is the expected normal authorization case and indicates that the check was guaranteed as well as electronically converted and can be given back to the customer.
Not Guaranteed and Not Authorized – This is the expected normal decline case and indicates that the check should not be accepted as a valid tender.
Guaranteed but Not Authorized – This occurs when the a check can be guaranteed, but cannot be converted to an E-Check (which may occur for small credit unions, cashiers checks, etc.). In this case the check can be accepted as a tender by the IDI platform because it was guaranteed. However, the check must be set aside to be deposited at the bank at a later time.
To aid with tracking this, the IDI platform performs the following actions:
The IDI platform automatically switches the tender type from E-Check to Check. This separates the tender for reconciliation purposes and indicates to the CSR that the check should be retained for later deposit.
The IDI platform filters this type of authorization out of the reconciliation response from USA ePay when calculating the reconciliation totals for E-Check.
The IDI platform displays a message that the check was not authorized for conversion and needs to be retained.
E-Pay Accounts (ACH)
E-Pay accounts are always processed using the processing method the customer originally agreed to use as a recurring payment. For example, if the original recurring E-Pay account was set up via OnlineBill, the processing method is set as WEB. If a customer subsequently makes a payment at a retail site using that account, the transaction is processed as a WEB transaction. Conversely, if the customer originally set up the recurring E-Pay account at a retail site and signed an ACH LOA, the processing method is PPD. If that customer later makes a payment using the same account via OnlineBill, the payment is processed as a PPD transaction.
