The Special Number Warning/Error window is displayed during the Make Sale wizard when the phone book does not have sufficient room to add all special numbers on the order, and if the service type is configured to display the phone book in the Make Sale wizard. This window lists the numbers that cannot be added and instructs you on what actions must be taken in order to proceed. Typically you use this form to delete existing entries from the phone book in order to make room for special numbers on the order. In some cases you may need to remove a special number product from the order.
Required and Optional Numbers
Special numbers assigned to a product may be required or optional depending on the product configuration. Required means the phone book must have room for ALL numbers; otherwise, the product cannot be added. Optional means the IDI platform will add as many numbers assigned to the product as the phone book can hold, and then add the product to the service without adding the remaining entries to the phone book.
The Special Number Error window is displayed when the order has required numbers that cannot be added. This is an error condition because the order must be altered, either by removing entries from the phone book or by removing special number products from the order, before the order can be completed.
The Special Number Warning window is displayed when the order has optional numbers (and no required numbers) that cannot be added. This is not an error condition since the order can be completed without having to remove phone book entries or products.
If an order includes a combination of required and optional numbers, the Special Number Error window is displayed and lists the required and optional numbers in separate panes.
Clicking OK takes you to the phone book window where you can remove existing entries to make room for special numbers as needed. If you choose not to remove existing entries, products with required numbers for which there is no room must be removed from the order. Products with optional numbers can remain on the order and will be added to the service without adding overflow numbers.
