Customer Care now supports MSAG (Master Street Address Guide) validation on service addresses. This functionality requires some setup by IDI and service providers as described below.
Setup
Some setup is required specifically to use MSAG Validation in Customer Care, and some is required in general – whether you use it in Customer Care or CostGuard Client.
To use in Customer Care:
Enable MSAG validation in Customer Care – This is done via MANAGE > Settings > General > Enable MSAG Validation.

Set up user roles and permissions – Users responsible for MSAG validation in Customer Care must be assigned a role with Manage Service Addresses permission in the Security web module.
The following is required regardless of where you use MSAG validation:
Add an MSAG validation node in CostGuard Config Console – This must be completed by an authorized IDI associate on your behalf.
Manage MSAG providers – This is done via Admin Console Data Management as described in CostGuard Online Help.
Upload MSAG files – MSAG providers generate the addresses that are loaded into the MSAG table. Each MSAG provider you use has a set of records containing location information for the respective Service Addresses. Uploading these files is done via CostGuard Client Applications > BackOffice Management > MSAG Management > MSAG File Upload. See CostGuard Online Help.
Performing MSAG Validation
In Customer Care, you have two options (routes) for managing service addresses (including MSAG validation):
On an open account – via the customer menu – Services > ServiceAddresses option. This displays the Service Addresses page with existing service addresses on the account listed.

From the MANAGE > Service Addresses option. This option facilitates managing service addresses systemwide.

From either area (customer account view shown below), you can create new service addresses, edit an existing address, or, on a customer account, you can add a service address directly to the account.

When MSAG validation is enabled, you can perform this validation when you add a service address to the account or edit an existing service address. For existing service addresses, when you click on one in the left panel, you can see whether the address has been MSAG validated.

To fix a Not MSAG Validated address, click EDIT and enter MSAG Validation information as required.

MSAG providers (Provider drop-down menu) are managed via the Admin Console Data Management MSAG provider table. The content of this table populates the Provider drop-down menu. The Community and County menus are populated based on MSAG information in the CostGuard system.
On saving, if the information is correct the validated status will be indicated.

Click ADD to add a service address to the account and validate the address. This displays basically the same dialog as shown above.
