Make Carrier Porting Form Required on Port-In Short Form for Web Port-In Orders

Carriers who need to capture Carrier Porting From when a service is ported in can use Order Field Configuration to make this field required on the Port-In short form. This field is already required on the long form.

Setup

Order Field Configuration in the Orders web module (MANAGE > Order Field Configuration) has a new option for Carrier Porting From (Brief form).

When you add this option, the configuration dialog has a control to make the field required, and another control to select the default carrier to port in from.

With the above setup completed, when you add a service and choose to port in the number…

…if the service type setup in the Product Catalog is set up to use the short form, the Carrier Porting From field will default to the carrier you selected in Order Field Configuration. You can select a different carrier if needed; however, you will not be permitted to leave the field undefined.
