Syniverse manages a list of SID assignments, and the NPANXX line range(s) associated with each SID. Syniverse publishes this information on a weekly basis in a single file with a specific format. the IDI platform uses this file to import both SID and associated line range information. (See Importing Line Ranges to import line ranges.)
In order to properly rate and outcollect wireless usage, IDI's SID database must be kept up to date. The IDI platform uses its Background Process Service to import the SID and SID NPANXX tables after you download the file from Syniverse.

The process starts as soon as the Syniverse file, lookupmanager.txt, is placed in the appropriate import folder in the eFramNET directory on the server: InfoDirectionsNET\eFrameNET\Environments\environmentName\serverName_BackgroundProcess\SID Import\In. The Background Processes Service processes each file, adding and updating records in the SID table. After a file is processed, it is moved into a \Done folder. A log file in the \Error folder contain status and error messages that the administrator can use to troubleshoot the process, if necessary.
Note
Syniverse and IDI do not differentiate between SID and BID numbers. They are both treated as SID.
