The Find Existing Service Address function lets you search the service addresses currently defined in the system. It is accessible from various IDI functions and wizards that require you to specify a service address. Regardless of how it is accessed, the Find Existing Service Address function provides the same functionality. You enter search criteria, perform a search, and select the desired service addresses from the search results. When you click Add, the selected addresses are returned to the function from which this function was invoked.
When you request Find Existing Service Address, the Find Existing Service Addresses window is displayed.
Enter search criteria as described below:
Street Number From/To | If you want service addresses with a specific house/building number, enter the desired number in the "From" and "To" fields. If you want service addresses with a house/building number that is greater than or equal to a specific number, enter that number in the "from" field and do not enter a number in the "To" field. If you want service addresses with a house/building number that is less than or equal to a specific number, enter that number in the "To" field and do not enter a number in the "From" field. If you want service addresses with a house/building number that falls within a specific range, enter the 1st number of that range in the "from" field and the last number of that range in the "To" field. |
Street Name | If you want service addresses with a specific street name, enter the desired street name. Wildcards may be used. |
City / State / Zip | If you want service addresses with a specific city, state, and/or zip code, enter the desired information into the appropriate field(s). Wildcards may be used in all three fields. |
Click Find. This displays the matching service addresses in the Search Results section of the Find Existing Service Addresses window.
Notes:
If no search criteria are specified, all service addresses are returned in the search results.
Since retired service addresses cannot be assigned, service addresses with a "Retired'" status are not returned in the search results.
Select the service addresses you want to use for the function you are currently performing.
Click Add to return the selected service addresses to the current function and close the Find Existing Service Addresses window.
