Exporting Usage History

Prev Next

You can export usage for a customer, either for all services or a selected service. This provides the same information as the Usage History Report, except that the information is presented in a data table. You can export the file in these formats: .csv, .html, .xml. For information on exporting usage history for all of the services for a customer see Reports. This section describes how to export usage for the selected service for the last three bill periods.

To create a report to export for a service:

  1. From the Services tab, right-click on an existing service and select Properties > Usage History Export.

  2. Enter the following information:

    Run in Background

Selecting this check box lets you continue with other work while the report is running. This is especially helpful if it takes a long time to create the report.

Once the report is run in the background, it is represented by an icon in the list of reports.

    Run Time

If you need to run the report at a later time, for example, at the end of the day, enter the day and time here.

    Save As

Enter a name for the report file.

    Path

Select the path to the directory where the report file will be stored, for example: \Customer, will place the report file in the Customer folder in Report Explorer.

Send a follow-up when this report is done.

Select this check box to be notified via a follow-up that the report is ready for viewing in the Reports application.

  3. Click OK to generate the report. This displays the report viewer window.

  4. Right-click on the status bar of the Report Viewer and select Export. This starts the Export wizard.

  5. Select an export file delimiter (comma separated data, HTML table, XML data).

  6. Click Next. This displays the Select Columns window with all available columns selected.

  7. Clear the columns that you do not want included in the export and click Next. This displays the Save As window.

  8. Navigate to the location where you want to store the file.

  9. Enter a name for the file and click Save. This displays the Specify the File window.

  10. Verify the path is correct and click Next. This exports the file export to the specified location and displays the Export Complete window.

  11. Select View Exported Document if you want to view the file immediately and click Finish.
