Checks for Parent Service Disconnects

Prev Next

Here are some of the specific actions that are taken in the IDI platform where checks are done to ensure that a product or an order does not leave a child product without a parent.

In POS (wireless only)

  • A check is done after completing Guided Assignment flow.

  • Another check is made when user clicks on Finish.

    • If there is a problem, the same validation is performed upon user clicking Complete Sale.

    Error Message if applicable:

Item ‘Description SKU of the Orphaned Child’ on service ‘the Orphaned Child’s Service Number’ is missing a parent item from the family ‘The Family Name’ for the date range MM/DD/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY. A parent item from the same family must be added to complete the order.

    In Order Management (wizards)

    These wizards are affected:

    • New customer Wizard

    • Add Service Wizard

    • Reconnect Service Wizard

    • Disconnect Service Wizard

A check is done for all of these wizards when user clicks Finish.

  • An error message is displayed if a mismatch occurs.

  • If user has permission, they can do an override.

  • If no permission, user cannot complete order.

    Move Service

  • If an error exists on the disconnect portion of the Move Service, this message displayed is:

Item ‘XXX’ on service ‘YYY’ on the original account must have an active parent item from the family ‘ZZZ’ for the date range MM/DD/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY. This must be fixed to complete the Move Service.

  • If an error exists on the add portion of the Move Service, this message displayed is:

Item ‘XXX’ on service ‘YYY’ on the destination account must have an active parent item from the family ‘ZZZ’ for the date range MM/DD/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY. This must be fixed to complete the Move Service.
