About CPNI Notifications

CPNI Notifications are notices sent to customers such as a PIN or information about an account change. These notifications can be in the form of:

  • E-mail

  • Text message

  • Letter (hard copy)

    These conditions must be followed up with a notification to the customer to verify that the change was done legitimately:

  • Password change

  • Backup authentication question or answer change, or e-mail address change

  • Authorized user list and/or password

  • Online account change

  • Address of record change

Your company can decide what templates to use for these notifications. See the following examples.

Notifications will only be sent to the primary billing contact of an account. Should there be no primary billing contact, then the primary customer contact will receive notifications.

Logging of Notifications

The following information will be saved for each notification that is sent.

  • Date

  • Time

  • System user ID of person who initiated the notification

  • Account number
