All retail products have an associated set of charges (prices) and availability. Each of these sets governs:
what retail products can be sold at which locations, and
at what price they will be sold.
The Availability and Pricing of an item are inherited via the location tree so that an Availability and Pricing set at the parent location will be inherited by its children automatically unless it is explicitly overridden.
To include inactive locations in the list, check Show Inactive Locations. Inactive Locations are displayed preceded by a red X. Locations are made Active or Inactive in the POS Back Office Locations settings.
Note
If a parent location is Inactive, all of its children are also inactive, even if the child is set to Active in the POS Back Office.
From this tab, you can make the following modifications to a product's availability and pricing by location.
Inherit pricing details from a parent - Select the radio button labelled Inherit values from '[name]'. This means this product will have the same charges and availability properties as the parent location.
Override Values - Select the radio button labeled Override values. This lets you create charge details for a product that are different from the parent, by allowing access to the shortcut menu.
Add/Edit Charge Details - Click Override values.
Right-click the product's row to access the Edit Charge Detail window.
Specify these values as needed:
Start Date - Beginning date that the charge will be in effect.
End Date - Ending date that the charge will be in effect.
Charge - Dollar value that will be charged for this product.
Click OK to keep your changes.
Delete Charge Details - Right-click the product's row and select Delete.
Resume Previous Charge - Right-click on the product's Location/Charge row and select Resume Previous Charge.
This creates a new charge from the last elapsed charge with no end date.
This is only available for those items that do not have a current charge, but have had a charge in the past.
End Current Charge - Right-click on the product's Location/Charge row and select End Current Charge.
This changes the current charge's end date to today's date.
This is only available for those items that have a current charge.
Make Completely Unavailable - Right-click on the product's Location/Charge row and select Make Completely Unavailable.
This removes all Availability and Pricing from the item at that location.
It also breaks the inheritance from the parent location. (This is only available for those items that either inherit from their parent, or have an Availability and Pricing associated with them.)
