Journal entries are used to record miscellaneous information, notes and so on for a customer account.
Accessing Journals
You can access the Journals page:
from an existing Journal in the Account Summary InfoCenter
In this case you'll see just the Journal you selected on the Account Summary.
OR
from the Customer menu by choosing Account > Journals.

In this case you'll see all Journals on the account.
OR
Use the Applications menu SEARCH option - To perform a search:
Click SEARCH in the Applications menu, then click the down arrow to show all search options.

Choose Journal. Enter one of the criterion as indicated in the search field, or click More Options.
If multiple items are returned in the search results you can click a link in the Journal column to go directly to that item, or click a link in the Account Number column go to the applicable Account Summary.

Using the Journal View
Select a specific Journal to work with by clicking through the list on the left.

You can also search for an existing Journal by ID, Type or Status, or click More Options to select from additional search criteria.

You can view/attach a document on a selected Journal by clicking the paper clip. This functionality is only available if your system is set up to use Document Storage.
Buttons on the right ride of the page let you add, edit, delete and Move the selected Journal.

To add a new Journal click NEW. To edit an existing one, select the Journal from the list on the left and then click EDIT.

Describe the purpose of this Follow-up
Internal Only
If checked, this journal entry is only displayed to your company's users.
Display In InfoCenter
Choose whether or not to display this Follow-up in the Account Summary InfoCenter
Note:
Journals whose Type = Forced Journal are read-only and cannot be edited.
Journals associated to a customer account can be moved to a specific Follow-up within the account. Similarly, Journals associated to a Follow-up can be moved to a different Follow-up on the account or directly to the account itself.

To move a Journal:
Click MOVE.
Select the object type with which the Journal will be associated. If the Journal is associated to the customer's account you may choose to associate it to a Follow-up on that account. If the Journal is already associated to a Follow-up you may choose to associate it to a different Follow-up on the account, or directly to the account itself.

To delete the selected Journal, click DELETE.
Showing Forced Journals
Silent (unprompted) Forced Journals are typically used for auditing purposes and may not be of interest to all users. To avoid cluttering the Journals page, silent Forced Journals are not displayed on this view by default. You can choose whether to hide or show Forced Journals via the check box available under More Options.

Silent Forced Journals are not editable (Edit, Move, Delete are disabled).
