Aggregating Not Invoice Responsible Child Balances to the Invoice Responsible Parent

A global configuration setting in Admin Console Business Rules lets you aggregate NIR child balances to the IR parent as part of the bill run.

When this setting is used:

  • NIR child charges are aggregated up to the IR Parent’s current balance bucket

  • A new Account Transaction Type Corporate Rollup Offset is applied to offset the individual balance on the child account after it has been aggregated to the parent

  • NIR children have a current balance of zero after billing completes

  • Parent balances represent self and child accounts

  • Related displays in Customer Care provide a clearer presentation of Corporate Account Roll-ups

Note the following considerations for existing balances after applying this setting:

  • Child debit balances remain until payments or adjustments offset them

  • Pre-existing credit balances remain until offset by adjustments
