Workflow Action – Add Wait Time

Prev Next

Although most times you are looking for processes to complete as quickly as possible, there are times where you want to take a moment before moving on to the next item.

By using the Workflow Action of Add Wait Time the system can automatically evaluate wait time in your process and then move on to the next item at the appropriate time. This action eliminates the need for someone to remember to place a process on hold or skew reporting numbers for a task because there is wait time in the configured in the task duration.

Add Wait Time – Parameters & Filters

This field can be populated with a value of Yes or No. If left blank the system evaluates the fields as a ‘No’ value.

Add Wait Time – Results

Although all actions are available to use within Triggers and Definitions configuraiton, the Add Wait Time action is most appropriately used in the Definition configuration.

When the Add Wait Time action transitions to an In-Progress status, a note will be added to the task to let you know when the task will transition to a Completed status.

If you have the Add Wait Time action configured to Recomputed on Resume an additonal note will be added to the action that shows the recomputed auto-complete date and time.

Once the interval, wait time end, or combination of both parameters has elapsed, the system will add another note to let you know that the task completed based on your configuration.
