Make Sale Wizard - Searching the POS Product Catalog

To search the POS Product Catalog window and add a product to the Make Sale window:

Performing an Exact Match Search

1. In the Find Catalog Item section, if you know the Description, Equipment ID , UPC, SKU,  or Starting Code, enter it and click Search. .

   Equipment ID

   The ESN or MEID associated with the service's handset.

   UPC

   Universal Product Code (bar code). This criteria may be convenient to use if you have the actual product and a scanner with which to read the UPC.

   SKU

   A unique identifying number for a product. If you are looking for a specific product, package, discount, service, or pricing plan, enter that item's SKU.

   Starting Code

   The Starting Code is a well-known value you can enter when making a sale to begin a particular Guided Assignment sales flow.

   

   If the item is a stand-alone Catalog Item, it is added to the Item list.

   If the item is a Starting Code, the appropriate Guided Assignment flow is begun.

   Note

   You can shorten the search by selecting one of the criteria and entering the value.

   Performing a Partial Match Search

   You can do a partial search by entering part of a number or name of a catalog item, or by typing an asterisk (*) to perform a wildcard search.

Locating an Item to Sell

1. Enter information into any of these fields, or none at all (to display everything in the catalog).

   SKU

   A unique ID for a product. If you know the SKU for a specific product, package, discount, service, or pricing plan, enter it to display just that item.

   Description

   If you know the words or phrase describing the product, enter them here. (Wildcards may be used.)

   USOC

   To look for items containing a Universal Service Order Code, enter that USOC. (Wildcards may be used.)

   Class of Service

   To search for products by Class of Service, select from the drop-down list

   Alias

   Provides a way of linking products to products in another system. If you are looking for items that contain a specific Alias, enter the desired Alias. (Wildcards may be used.)

   Catalog Group

   If you are looking for a product that is in a catalog group, select from the drop-down list.

   2. Click Search to display all products that match the specified search criteria.

Selecting an Item to Sell

1. To select a product from the search results, double-click the product's row, or right-click and choose Select.

   This will advance you to the next step of the sales process.
