If the Parent Equipment exists in the inventory:
Right-click in the Parent Equipment tab window and select Find Existing Equipment. This displays the Find Existing Parent Equipment search window.

Enter the search criteria as described below:
Search Criteria
Equipment Name
Unique name of the parent equipment.
Equipment Type
Parent's type of equipment.
Equipment Status
Parent equipment's status.
Wire Center
Location from which service is being provided. This field is automatically populated from the Main tab.
Click Find. This displays a list of equipment fitting the criteria in the Search Results area.

Search Results
Equipment ID
Unique identifier of the potential parent equipment.
Name
Name of the potential parent equipment.
Type
Type of the potential parent equipment.
Status
Status of the potential parent equipment.
Check the appropriate parent Equipment ID boxes and click Add to add the selected equipment as parents.
If you checked an Equipment ID in error, you can clear the check box before you click Add.
