When you create a new customer, you must enter customer information. The customer name and address are mandatory. For other fields you may use default values or edit as needed.

The Customer Information window provides the following input fields:
First / Mi. / Last Name
First / Mi. / Last Name specifies the first name, middle initial, and last name of the subscriber associated with the account.
Company Name
Company Name is the name of the company associated with the account if applicable.
Street
Street 1, 2 and 3 are the street address of the subscriber's Primary Customer Contact for this account.
City / State / Zip
The City / State / Zip fields are the city, state, and zip code where the subscriber's Primary Customer Contact is located.
Country
The Country field specifies the country where the subscriber's Primary Customer Contact is located.
Validation Result
The Validation Result icon indicates the result of the automatic address validation.
Green check mark: the validation was successful and the Required and Actual validation types match.
Yellow check mark: the validation was successful but the Required and Actual validation types do not match.
Red X: the validation was unsuccessful and the attempt was bypassed.
Validate Now
Click Validate Now to validate the address immediately. The system validates the address and returns the result.
If you do not use this button, validation occurs upon leaving this window.
Additional Info
The Additional Info button lets you see additional address information.
Click Additional Info and select one of the following:
Parsed Address
Selecting Parsed Address opens the Parsed Address window. The Parsed Address breaks down the components of an address to it lowest logical level and is used for MSAG Validation.

Enter the desired information into the appropriate fields and click Save.
Note: Street Number, Dir. Prefix, Street Name, and Street Type become the contact's Street 1 information.

View Phone / Email
Selecting View Phone/Email opens the Edit Contact window.

A contact can have up to four phone numbers, each with an associated Phone Type (Fax, Home, Mobile, Pager, or Work).
A contact can have up to three Email addresses, each with an associated Email Type (Home or Work).
Billing Information Same
Select the Billing Information Same check box if the subscriber's Primary Customer Contact address (Street 1, Street 2, Street 3, City/State/Zip, and Country) is the billing address for this account. Clear this check box, if the billing address is different.
Customer Attributes
Additional information about the customer used by your company.
Account Type
The Account Type is the rating and billing classification for the account, since business accounts are often charged different rates than residential accounts (example - Residential, Business, etc.). Select the appropriate Account Type from the drop-down list.
Note:
The default value is the first account type in the drop-down list.
Social Security Number
Customer’s Social Security Number. Click the Edit ... button to add/edit this field.
FEIN
Customer’s Federal Employer Identification Number.
Phone Number
Customer's current phone number.
Drivers License ID
The Drivers License entered, or displayed, is the license number of the individual responsible for the account. Click Edit to add or change the licence number.
Drivers License State
The Drivers License State entered, or displayed, is the abbreviated State where the drivers license, of the individual responsible for the account, was obtained.
Date of Birth
Some companies offer discounts or other incentives to customers who fall within certain age groups.
Market
The Market the customer will be a part of.
Account #
The Account # is the subscriber's account number in CostGuard. If you do not to enter an account number, the system automatically assigns the next available account number to this subscriber.
Account Status
The Account Status is the disposition of the account (such as Active, Disconnected, Suspended, etc.). Select the appropriate Account Status from the drop-down list.
Main Billing #
The Main Billing # is the primary phone number, often used for LEC bill information.
E-Mail
The customer's e-mail address.
Start Date
The Start Date is the date the subscriber is scheduled to be active. You can either enter the date or select it from the calendar. The default is the current date.
Sales Channel
Name of the Sales Channel or Associate assigned to this customer.
Advanced button
Click the Advanced button to enter additional information related to this subscriber account. The Edit Prospect Info window is displayed (see Editing Customer Information).
Note:
Your company may require additional custom information. These fields are available in the Customer Attributes area of the Customer Information window.
Click Next when you're finished entering customer information.
Note:
If invalid customer information is entered, the wizard will not allow you to continue. In this case you must either correct the errors or cancel the sales request.
