Configuring Processing Order for a Pricing Plan

The processing order determines the order by which pricing plans assigned to a subscriber account are searched to find a matching rate detail when a call is rated. Processing order is configured on two levels.

First, all pricing plans must be assigned to a pricing plan group. Each group is assigned a rank such that plans in a higher ranking group are searched before plans in a lower ranking group (where 1 is a higher rank than 2).
Second, plans are ranked within their respective groups. Higher ranking plans in the group are searched before lower ranking plans in the group.
This functionality is configured via the Processing Order field on the New/Edit Pricing Plan window.

This window lets you:
Assign the pricing plan to an existing group (Add To This Group).
Create a new group (New...).
- Change the rank of an existing group by one of two methods:
  - The Edit shortcut option.
  - The Up/Down arrows (or the equivalent shortcut options).
    These procedures are similar to changing the processing order of a pricing plan within a group.
    You can open the contents of a selected group to view the pricing plans in that group, and change the processing order of plans within the group. To do this:
  - Right-click on the group in the Pricing Plans Group window and select View Plans. The Pricing Plan Processing Order window is displayed.
    This window provides two methods for adjusting the processing order of a group:
  - Up/Down arrows (or equivalent Move Up/Move Down options in the shortcut menu).- This adjusts the processing order of the selected plan up or down by one each time you click the button (or select the equivalent shortcut option).
    This method works well if there are not large gaps in the processing order value from one plan to the next. If there are gaps in the processing order values, the plan being m oved will not actually move ahead of or behind the next plan in the order until the plan is moved completely through the gap, one-step-at-a-time.
    For example, if plan Y has a processing order of 20 and the next higher plan (plan X) has a processing order of 10, if you want to move plan Y ahead of plan X, you must click the Up arrow until the processing order of plan Y reaches 10. The processing order of plan X is adjusted down to 11.

    Right-click on the plan whose processing order you want to change and select Edit. This displays a window for editing the plan's processing order.

    Enter the new processing order value and click OK.
    Any plans that were ahead of this plan are adjusted down accordingly. For example, if you change a plan from processing order 3 to 1. The 1 and 2 plans adjust down to 2 and 3 respectively.

Delete a group (only if the group has no plans assigned).

This window is also accessible via the main menu: Applications > Project Management > Pricing Plan Groups. When accessing the Pricing Plan Groups window this way, you can create new groups and adjust the processing order of plans in a group; however, you cannot assign pricing plans to a group.
