This wizard lets you add only services to a customer account. To start this wizard:
Click the Services tab.
Right-click in the Services list and select New > Service(s). This displays the Add Service(s) Wizard - Order Information window.
Select an Order Type from the drop-down list.
Select a Source Code (promotional code) from the drop-down list, if applicable.
Enter a Sales Channel. Enter the sales code in the first field, if applicable. If you do not know the sales code, enter the sales name in the second field. Use * as a wildcard or click the Sales Channel button to view the Sales Tree window.
Note
The Sales Channel button is disabled if more than 1000 records are detected. In this scenario, you must enter a specific sales code or sales name. The text field turns yellow when an exact match is found.
Select a Sales name from the list and click OK.
Enter a Receipt Number, if applicable. You may choose to use the number that appears on the customer's receipt for their POS purchase, if desired.
Note
The Receipt Number field is only provided in an integrated POS and Wireless system.
Select the Order State from the drop-down list. This further explains the order status.
Enter an Estimated Completion Date, if applicable.
Click Next. This displays the Add Services window. This window presents the available services as they were configured in the Product catalog.
You can modify the view in the Services List (right pane) by right-clicking in the pane and choosing:
View > Details – displays the Service ID, Charge, and Charge Cycle associated with each service.
View > List – removes the details.
View > Show Inactive Items – lets you show inactive items. By default, catalog items that are not active are hidden. To hide them again, re-select this option.

To add a service:
Find a service that you want to add by browsing the folders in the service list. Double-click a folder in the right pane to display the service types that folder. Use the Back button in the upper left corner to return to the previous level if necessary.
Enter the quantity to add in the Quantity field.
Enter the date the service is to begin in the Start Date input field.
Specify the Service Address if different from the one displayed in the Service Address field. See Entering a Service Address.
Check the Ignore Reservations check box, if you do not want to use reserved service numbers.
Check the Choose Service Numbers check box, if you want to select your service numbers from a list of available service numbers and reserved service numbers that have not yet been assigned.
Note
This check box is only available if the permission is configured in your permission profile: Application > CostGuard Client > Customer Management > Customers > Catalog Items > Choose Service Number.
Select the inventoried service you want to add to the order, using one of the following methods:
Fast Assign - either double-click on the service or right-click on the service and select Fast Assign. This adds the service with a temporary service number directly to the order list.
You can add a service number later by editing the service (right-click on the service in the Orders section and select Edit) or use the Service Details window later in this wizard.
Assign – use this if you need to use the New Service window to enter additional information such as contact, billing or tax information. This method must be used if you want to override E911 information.
Right-click on the service and select Assign. This displays the New Customer Information window. This window is described in Assigning/Editing a Service. Resume with the next step in this wizard when you finish with the New Customer Information window.
Assign (Port-In) – use this if you need to port-in a service number.
Note
If you need to add a service address, right-click on the service in the Order section, select Service Address Associations, and add the desired service address. See Service Address Associations for more information.
Use the Create Service Detail Pages check box to specify whether to display or bypass the Service Details windows. One instance of this window will be displayed for each service you add to the order.
This is checked by default. The Service Details window lets you enter a service number, billing number, and attributes related to the service (if any). If you do not need to enter this information at this time, uncheck this box to bypass Service Details.
When you are done adding services, click Next. This displays the Service Details or Order Options window depending on whether or not you checked Create Service Details Page.
To enter Service Details, continue with Entering Service Details.
If you unchecked this option the Order Options window is displayed.
Review and submit the order as described in Submitting the Order.
