Guided Assignment lets you configure special folder structures in the Product Catalog to support guided order sequences. The guided orders direct POS Front Office or Customer Management users through a controlled sales process that helps to ensure the correct items (and quantities) are included in the order. This function has two slightly different applications in Customer Management and POS.
For Customer Management, Guided Assignment applies to orders that include one or more new services.
When an order type with Guided Assignment enabled is selected in the Order wizard, after services have been added, the sequence for adding service-level features is dictated by a specific folder structure configured in the Product Catalog.
For POS, Guided Assignment can apply to any designated product.
For example, you may set up your Product Catalog to trigger a guided order with the sale of a handset, plan, or any other salable item. You may even use Guided Assignment to set up guided orders that are triggered without the actual sale of an item. Guided Assignment for POS not only ensures the correct items are included in an order; it also helps promote cross-selling and up-selling.
