Profiles map PODs to a Provider (network element or end-point where products are provisioned) and a provisioning action. An example provisioning action may be: add a business line or suspend a wireless line. The Profiles page is the default view when you open the Provisioning application. You can also navigate to this page from any other view by clicking PROFILES in the main menu.

From here you can add new Profiles and edit existing Profiles.
Adding a Profile

When you create a new Profile you begin by setting up a default view using System-defined properties and Global Information. Then you can add PODs to set up separate Profile views for each POD by overwriting default values as needed with property definitions from the selected POD. You cannot add PODs to the Profile and use their properties until you create a default version of the Profile. To begin:
Click +NEW PROFILE to display the New Profile dialog.
Enter a Name and Description, then select a Provider from the drop down list. This enables the Action drop down menu. The Actions available for selection depend upon the selected Provider.

On selecting an Action, the dialog will present you with a list of parameters the selected Provider expects/needs to complete the selected Action.

An asterisk indicates the parameter is required and must have a value specified.
On the right side are the Available Properties for configuring the parameters.
System – These are system-defined properties such as Account Name and Account Number.
Global – These are the properties you defined as Global Information.
Provisionable Objects – These are the PODs you’ve configured in your system.

These are not available until you’ve set up and saved a default version of the Profile.
Click the + icon next to the System and Global properties to display the respective available properties. Then drag and drop properties into parameters to set the defaults.

Once you have a default Profile (all required parameters are configured and saved), you can begin adding PODs to the Profile. PODs let you set up separate Profile views for provisioning the associated SKUs according to their unique requirements.

Click ADD PROVISIONABLE OBJECTS to display the Add PODs dialog and select one or more PODs to use in the Profile.

Added PODs are listed to the right above the parameter list, and in the View drop down menu. This menu lets you toggle the Available Properties list between the Default View (System and Global properties) and any one of the added PODs.

You can remove a POD if needed by clicking the blue X icon (X turns red when you hover over it).

When you select a POD from the View menu, the properties for that POD are available to override the default Profile parameter values. For example, if you select Metaswitch Business Basic, you can set up a version of the Profile to use parameter values specific to any SKU associated to that POD when those SKUs are being provisioned.

When you overwrite a default value with a POD property definition, the parameter is marked with a check. Clicking (removing) the check lets you restore the default value if needed.

Use the View menu to toggle through each of the POD views and set up the Profile parameters for each one as needed.
Editing a Profile
You can edit an existing Profile by clicking on a Profile name on the profiles page to display the corresponding details. From the Details view you can edit parameters, and add or remove PODs as needed.
