Standardized Method for Configuring Usage Types for Invoice XML

This enhancement provides the ability to configure the usage types for invoice sections without requiring IDI assistance. Prior to this, carriers needed to open a service request to add/remove usage types from an invoice section.

Users can now specify which usage types the Billing Number Usage Summary and Wireline New Charges by Service Name optional XML reports will retrieve. This configuration is completed via Admin Console > Data Management > Settings using a specific Major/Minor Key combination for the reports.

Note:

This configuration for Billing Number Usage Summary was previously supported in Config Console which is unavailable to IDI platform users, and was not supported for the Wireline New Charges by Service Name report at all.

Setup

Usage types must be configured for the Billing Number Usage Summary invoice and Wireline New Charges by Service Name optional XML reports.

Note:

If these configuration changes are not made, both reports will continue to select the usage types as occurred prior to taking version 20.12.

Admin Console > Data Management

In Admin Console > Data Management > Settings add new rows for Billing Number Usage Summary and Wireline New Charges by Service Name:

For Billing Number Usage Summary, in the Add Setting dialog, enter the following:

• Major Key: XML_Invoice

• Minor Key: Billing_Number_Usage_Summary_Usage_Types

• Occurrence: Enter an integer (e.g. 1)

• Data Value: Enter a comma-separated list of Usage Types by ID (from the Usage Types table in Data Management).

Note:

Usage types to be included in this optional report were previously selected from the Billing Number Usage Summary Usage Types setting in Config Console. If the above Admin Console entry does not exist for the report, the report will continue to use the usage types that were configured in Config Console.

For Wireline New Charges by Service Name enter:

• Major Key: XML_Invoice

• Minor Key: Wireline_New_Charges_by_Service_Name

• Occurrence: Enter an integer (e.g. 1)

• Data Value: Enter a comma-separated list of Usage Types by ID (from the Usage Types table in Data Management).

Note:

If no usage types are configured for the report, all usage types will be included. Prior to this release, there was no filtering by usage type.

The Billing Number Usage Summary Usage Types setting has been removed from the XML Invoice General Configuration display and cannot be configured via Config Console any longer.
