  • Allow Private Line Tax Allocation - The Orders web application and Order Placement web service do not support drilling into packages to apply private line tax (PLT) allocations to individual items within the package. As a work-around users needed to remove items that require private line tax allocations from any package and add them to the order as individual items, otherwise order placement would fail to complete.

The Allow Automatic Private Line Tax Allocation setting lets carriers bypass private tax allocations during order placement. This enables orders with PLT products to be placed in the Order web module or via web APIs and complete successfully without specifying the PLT allocation.

When this setting is enabled, PLT validations are always skipped for PLT products within a package, and skipped for standalone PLT products if no allocations are specified. In these cases, when Billing System Update is run the allocation will default 100% to the first applicable Tax Jurisdiction with the following address priority:

    • Jurisdiction Override (if set)

    • Service Address (if configured)

    • Service Contact Address (if configured)

    • Primary Customer Contact

  • Allow Equipment Exchange When Swapping Equipment - The option to exchange handsets between two services on an account requires the Allow Equipment Exchange When Swapping Equipment setting to be enabled.

    Caution

DO NOT enable the Exchange Equipment functionality without fully understanding the ramifications of exchanging equipment at the switch. Please consult with your Account Manager if you have interest in using this new functionality. Provisioning kit changes may be required.

  • Auto-populate Sales Associate on Orders - This lets you auto-populate the sales associate (sales channel) value for an order with the sales channel assigned to the user who is entering the order. The setting applies when entering orders in both the Orders web application and IDI Desktop Client.

This setting is disabled (unchecked) by default. To toggle, check the Auto-populate Sales Associate on Orders check box and click SAVE.

When this setting is enabled, all orders entered via the Orders web application or IDI Desktop Client will have the Sales Associate (Sales Channel) value auto-populated with the Sales Channel assigned to the user who is entering the order.

    Note

The auto-populated value can be edited on the order as needed.

If the user entering the order does not have an assigned Sales Channel, the Sales Channel assigned to the customer will be used. If neither the user nor the customer has a Sales Channel assigned, the value will not be auto-populated (it will default to blank).

  • Default Include Installment Plan Balances on Swap Equipment - This sets the default for Include Installment Plans in the Orders Move Service Wizard:

    • When this setting is enabled (checked), Include Installment Plans defaults to checked.

    • When this setting is disabled (unchecked), Include Installment Plans defaults to unchecked.

Regardless of this setting, users can still toggle the Include Installment Plans check box in the Move Service wizard as needed.

  • Enable Starting Blocks - This can be used to enable Starting Block functionality for Web Sales.

    More

There are two new settings for enabling this functionality – one in Orders and one in Customer Care. The setting in Orders is required to enable this functionality. The setting in Customer Care is only needed if you want to use this functionality in Customer Care.

    • Enabling Starting Blocks in Orders

      Show Picture

      • When disabled (default), there is no change to the current user experience in Orders and Customer Care. Also starting blocks cannot be configured in Product Catalog.

      • When enabled, the Product Catalog supports starting block configuration. Also the NEW (+) button in Orders is relabeled as START > and clicking it displays a dialog for selecting a starting block as a means to start a sale/order. Also, starting block functionality is supported in Customer Care if the corresponding setting is enabled there as well.

    • Enabling Starting Blocks in Customer Care

      Show Picture

      • When disabled (default), starting block functionality and sale transactions are not supported in Customer Care. In this case you can enable the functionality in Product Catalog and Orders using the Orders setting and leave it disabled in Customer Care.

      • When enabled a Start Transaction button is provided on the Account Summary page (all views) to initiate account-level transactions. A button is also provided on Services and Features page when a service is selected to support service-level transactions. In both cases, clicking Start Transactions displays the dialog for selecting a starting block.

  • Enable Register Management - The is intended for in-store (brick-and-mortar) applications. It enforces the rule for one user per register as well as no sale rules, and governs the operation of the Assign Register dialog.

    More

    • Enabled - the Register selector in the Assign Register dialog only presents registers you are authorized to use (registers located in a POS location where you are an assigned user) and where the Username matches your Username or no Username and Machine Name are assigned.

    • Disabled - you can assign yourself any register where you are authorized, regardless of Username and Machine Name.

The setting defaults to disabled. To toggle the setting click the edit (pencil) icon for general settings and toggle the associated button (shown disabled below).

You may choose to display SKU, Description or SKU and Description. The setting defaults to Description. It only applies to product selection (when items are not in the cart).

The following areas in the Orders application use the new setting:

    • Account Level Feature

    • Service Level Feature: Browse

    • Service Level Feature: Search by Description

  • Add Feature to a Service:

    • Browse

    • Search by Description

  • Add Service:

    • All Service Types

    • Service Types by State and Zone

    • Subservice

      • Once parent service is selected, the available service types for a sub-service are listed

Display Get Available eSIM - This setting toggles functionality that streamlines the get eSIM process when adding a new service or swapping equipment where the handset technology is Dual Mode or GSM. When enabled, a Get Available eSIM link is displayed under the SIM ID field on the service detail's Equipment Information view. This lets providers that pre-load eSIMS auto-populate the SIM ID field with an available eSIM . This functionality is toggled off by default so as not to confuse providers that do not pre-load eSIMs or sell handsets that support GSM technology.
