This table defines designators for service addresses. They provide additional information related to elevations, structures, and units (for example, Building, Floor, Apartment, Front, Back, and so on.). Alternate designators are also supported. These let you define alternate spellings for designators. The IDI platform uses these alternate spellings to translate the designators received from outside sources into the designators use by the IDI platform.
You can organize your designators into three pre-defined groups:
Designator 1
Designator 2
Designator 3
How you group your designators is entirely up to you.
Service Address Designators are managed in Admin Console Data Management. To set up and maintain the Designators table:
Under Data Management expand the Service Address folder and double-click Designators. This displays the Designators form.

The Designators window provides the following information:
Type
Identifies which group the displayed designators belong to. The IDI platform provides three groups. The default is Designator 1.
To display, add or edit designators in another group, select the desired Type from the drop-down list.

Alternate Description
Alternate spelling for the Designator selected on the left pane is displayed in the right pane.
To display, add or edit the alternate description for a Designator, click on it in the left pane.
The shortcut menu for this table lets you add, edit and delete service address designators.
To add a new service address designator to the Designators table:
In the Designators window, select the Type from the drop-down list that corresponds to the designator group to which you want to add the new designator. The designators assigned to the selected group are displayed in the left pane (Designators section) of the Designators window.
Right-click anywhere in the left pane (Designators section) of the Designators window and select New. The Add Designator window is displayed.
Specify the Type, Designator, and Description.
Click Save.
