When you override a rule, you are overriding the Default Action of the rule and allowing the call to load, even if it violates that rule.
You can override the rule for one or more selected records. If a record has multiple Unbillable Codes, only the rule selected in the Unbillable Analyzer is overridden.
Note
Only unbillable rules noted as "Allows Override" in the Unbillable Rules window can be overridden. You cannot override a rule on a record that could not be guided to a customer account.
Overridden unbillable codes are tracked within the Parse database in the CDREventUnbillableRuleOverride table.
To override a rule:
-
In the Unbillable Usage Records window, select the row(s) you want override.
-
Right-click and select Override Rule. A list of the rules that the record violated is displayed. Select the rule you want to override. If one of the rules was previously overridden, it is displayed but is grayed out. The rule is overridden and an O is added to the first column of the selected rows.
Note
Once you override a rule on a record, you must request a rederive or rerate operation. When the record is processed again, it is loaded into a usage database, but no longer receives that unbillable code. It may, however, receive a different unbillable code.
