The IDI platform provides the ability to determine if, and when, the system forces you to make journal entries. This is configured in the Business Rules of Admin Console.

From Admin Console, select Business Rules > Local Services > CostGuardService > Customer Management Settings > Forced Journal Entries. This displays the Forced Journal Entries window.
The Forced Journal Entries window displays the following information.
Default Values
Journal Type
Select the appropriate journal type from the drop-down list. The list includes all user-defined journal types from Customer Management and Collections.
Journal Status (optional)
Select the appropriate journal status from the drop-down list. The list includes all user-defined journal statuses from the Journal Class “Journal”.
Description (optional)
Free-form text used as a the default description for the journal.
Forcing Locations
On Customer View
Forces a journal entry when the Customer Info window is opened. Users are not prompted to enter journal information
On Customer Info Save
Forces a journal entry when the Edit Customer Info window is closed.
On Customer Account Exit
Forces a journal entry when the Customer window is closed.
On Order Finish
Forces a journal entry when one of the Order Wizards is closed.

Complete the information as appropriate.
Note
If none of the Forcing Locations options are checked, no journals are forced.

Click Save to exit the window and save the changes.
A forced journal entry is required if all of the following three conditions are met:

The default Journal Type ID has been set in the Admin Console,

The user’s permission profile requires it, and
-
The check box requiring a forced journal entry at a particular point in the GUI is checked in the Admin Console.
