The following are examples of Line Card Types.
Example 1
Your company has determined that all residential equal access services must contain the following equipment.

The standard for line cards in your company states that the equipment be listed in the following order on the line card.

If additional equipment is added to the line card during assignment, a message is displayed listing the extra equipment. You can acknowledge the message and the extra equipment is added to the end of the list.

If you do not include all the required equipment at assignment time, a message lists the missing equipment types based on the line card type template. This message is just a reminder that something is missing; you are not required to include all of the equipment listed in a line card type template when assigning a line card. You only need to acknowledge the reminder before you can continue with the assignment.
Example 2
As another example, you can create a line card type without including any equipment in the template. You can then add any equipment to the line card at assignment time and they will be displayed in the order you assigned them.
