Default Market Configuration

When creating a new customer in POS and in Customer Management, default markets can be established through a configuration form.

This ability is dependent on:

  • Web service connections being set up first in Configuration Console

  • User permissions enabled

To configure the Default Market Assignment:

  1. Access Applications > Customer Management > Settings > Market Assignment Configuration.

    Default Market Calculation (top pane)

    Enable assignment logic

By default this is disabled. If selected, and a web service connection information is set up in Configuration Console, Desktop Client attempts to determine a default market based upon options selected on this form.

Disable Market field when creating new customers

Selecting this disables the Market drop-down list that is displayed in New Customer/New Prospect wizard, whether accessed from POS or Customer Management. Therefore a user cannot lock the market.

If this is selected, a default market must be provided.
