When items are returned to inventory, they are aged for a specified period of time before they become available for reuse. When the aging interval expires, the item's inventory status is automatically changed to Available. The default aging interval is 90 days, but you can have that changed by submitting a Service Request to IDI.
You can manually terminate an item's aging, by changing the item's Available Date to the current date or earlier date. The system automatically makes the item available for reuse. You can also terminate an item's aging at any time, via the End Aging and Bulk End Aging functions provided by the system.
End Aging
If a service number's inventory status is Aging, you can terminate the aging process for that service number:
In the Service Number Search Results window, right-click on the desired service number and select End Aging.

The End Aging option is only enabled if the service number’s inventory status is Aging.
This displays a confirmation window.
Click Yes to terminate the aging process and close the confirmation window. This changes the service number's inventory status to Available.
Bulk End Aging
The IDI platform lets you bulk terminate the aging process for all aging service numbers that are displayed in the Service Number Search Results window:
In the Service Number Search Results window, filter out all service numbers that you do not want to modify. This bulk function terminates the aging process for all aging service numbers that are displayed in the Service Number Search Results window at the time of your request.
Click Actions and select Bulk End Aging. This displays a confirmation window.
Click Yes to terminate the aging processes and close the confirmation window. This changes the service numbers' inventory statuses to Available.
Note
Only those service numbers with an inventory status of Aging are affected by this bulk function.
