Each Price Point consists of the charge amount, the dates it is available for sale, the duration of the Price Point, and the applicable discounts customers receive when purchasing the product. Each Price Point has multiple discounts to cover the different parts of a plan, such as Anytime Airtime Minutes, Roaming Minutes, Nights and Weekends, and so on.

Tax Classes for Price Points

You can also add one or more tax classes to a price point. The ability to assign multiple tax classes to price points in an Advance Pay product lets you tax the product with greater precision by more accurately reflecting its composition. The tax allocations for a price point must total 100%. For example, a price point can be configured to tax 75% of the charge with the Wireless Airtime tax class and the remaining 25% with the Data tax class.

If you choose not to assign tax classes to a price point. the tax class as selected on the Taxes tab is used.

Note

This functionality is enabled by default, but can be turned off via the Tax Options window in Config Console. This setting is only available to authorized IDI associates and requires a service request to change.

When customers purchase AdvancePay Products, they choose which Price Point to buy.

About Price Points

A price point is a collection of grant discounts and an associated charge that is part of an AdvancePay product.

  • The AdvancePay grant discount is basically a template that is used to set up eligible usage, distance, items, and so on.

    Price points include:

  • Name of the Price Point displayed to the sales person when selling an AdvancePay Product. This should clearly indicate which "plan" a customer is buying. For example, naming a Price Point "50/1000/30" can indicate the charge ($50.00), the units (1000 minutes), and duration (30 days). Required.

  • Duration is the life span of the discounts purchased with the Price Point. Most companies use 30 days, but the duration can be any number of days. This option is available only if Unlimited has not been selected. Duration consists of

    • length of extension (in days)

    • maximum extendable days

  • Charge is the amount paid by customers if they choose the Price Point.

  • Current charge date range (allows for future dating price changes)

  • Date availability (controls when the AdvancePay product is available for sale)

  • Grant Discount assignment (connects the price point to any applicable discount)

  • You can also add one or more tax classes to a price point. The ability to assign multiple tax classes to price points in an Advance Pay product lets you tax the product with greater precision by more accurately reflecting its composition.
