The Equipment Swap Wizard allows an authorized user to assign an MDN to a different ESN and allows you to exchange a handset or a SIM card.

A SIM card is a removable smart chip that is placed a cell phone.
MDN
MDN stands for Mobile Directory Number
ESN
ESN stands for Electronic Serial Number. It is a unique number burned in to a CDMA/TDMA handset.
When swapping equipment, if the current handset uses GSM technology, you cannot change to one with CDMA/TDMA or Dual Mode (CDMA + SIM) technology. Likewise, you cannot change from CDMA/TDMA or Dual Mode (CDMA + SIM) technology to GSM. However, you can change from CDMA/TDMA to Dual Mode (CDMA + SIM) and vice versa.
