In order to perform any POS transaction in Back Office or Front Office, you must be logged into a register, because registers are the vehicle through which POS transactions are recorded.
Configuring My Location involves selecting a Store and selecting a Register.
To Access My Location, go to Applications > PO Back Office > My Location.
Selecting a Store
When IDI Desktop Client is started, it does not start in "POS mode." If you attempt to access POS features, the My Location window displays, asking you to select the store where you are located and an available register for that store.

If you are not authorized for any stores, the drop down will display “No Stores Authorized.” If you have previously selected a store, it will be remembered via a user preference. See Troubleshooting below..
Selecting a Register
Once a store is selected, the list of registers for that store is populated. If a register with the correct machine name already exists, that register will automatically be used.
If no register currently has the correct machine name (machine name is blank), a list of all available registers is presented.
If no available registers can be found, the register field displays “No Registers Available.”
Once you have selected a store and register, you can perform transactions. The current location (if any) is displayed in the status bar of the client in the form:
When you re-launch IDI Desktop Client, the system automatically tries to detect the correct location using the user preference for the Store and the machine name for the Register. If this works, the location is displayed in the status bar and you will not not be prompted for the location before starting a POS transaction.
